Ashish Nehra lost his cool after Sherfane Rutherford's dismissal during GT vs MI IPL 2025 clash

Deepak Chahar got the better of Sherfane Rutherford

Gujarat Titans batter Sherfane Rutherford was unable to make any impact during IPL 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi stadium on Marach 29, Saturday. Sherfane Rutherford came in to bat at number five with the intention of providing a strong finish to the Gujarat Titans' innings. The West Indies international cricketer displayed glimpses of aggressive hitting, striking two impressive sixes early in his innings. However, he couldn't capitalise on this promising start in the match.

Rutherford's innings was cut short in the 19th over after scoring 11-ball 18 when he was dismissed by Deepak Chahar of the Mumbai Indians, who bowled exceptionally well to regain control for his team towards the end of the innings. Chahar delivered a ball on a good length around the off-stump, and Rutherford attempted to hit it for a big six but mistimed his shot, leading to his dismissal.

Following Sherfane Rutherford's attempt to loft the ball over long-off, Mitchell Santner positioned himself well to take a comfortable catch, resulting in Rutherford's dismissal. The reaction of Gujarat Titans' head coach, Ashish Nehra, immediately after the left-handed batter's departure, drew considerable attention.

Ashish Nehra visibly displayed his frustration, as he was seen screaming his gut out in anger in the dugout. He held his hands up in the air as he openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the manner of the dismissal.
