IPL 2025 Orange Cap Standings: Nicholas Pooran on top again, Shreyas Iyer enters top 5 but Abhishek Sharma still out of top 10 despite record-breaking 141

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Nicholas Pooran is still in the possession of orange cap after losing it briefly to Gujarat Titans' (GT) Sai Sudharsan. Sudharsan scored 56 runs from 37 innings to take the orange cap but Pooran walked out in the run chase and tonked seven sixes in his his 34-ball 61 to take it back. Pooran's knock helped LSG chase down 181 with three balls to spare and six wickets in hand.

LSG's Mitchell Marsh still holds the third spot despite missing the match to take care of his unwell daughter. GT's star overseas batter Jos Buttler retained the fifth position with a 14-ball 16. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer took the fourth spot with a blazing 36-ball 82.

Changes outside top five 

There were plenty of changes outside the top five. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head missed surpassing Buttler by five runs. He scored 63 runs from 37 balls in the mammoth run chase against PBKS. Head has 214 runs from six innings. He is closely followed by GT skipper Shubman Gill who scored 60 runs from 38 balls. Gill has 208 runs from six innings.

LSG opener Aiden Markram made his way into top with a 31-ball 58. Markram has scored 202 runs from six innings and is in the ninth spot. SRH's other ferocious opener Abhishek Sharma still finds himself at the 12th spot despite a record-breaking 55-ball 141 against PBKS. He is in the 12th spot.

Chance for big guns to be back in orange cap race

Mumbai Indians' (MI) Suryakumar Yadav has a chance to move into top five. MI take on Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Suryakumar is currently in 10th position with 199 runs from five innings. DC's KL Rahul will have a chance to move up. The in-form batter will play his first match in Delhi this season. He is currently in 15th position. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli can move into top five as well. Both Patidar and Kohli have 186 runs each so far. They will go up against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur.
