There were no changes in the top five-wicket takers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 1. On a batting-friendly track, an in-form Shardul Thakur was taken to the cleaners as he conceded 39 runs from three overs. He could not snatch the purple cap from Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) left-arm chinaman bowler Noor Ahmad.
Meanwhile, there were two new additions to top 10. LSG's lone wicket-taker against PBKS, mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi took two wickets to reach the seventh position. He dismissed openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. The spinner who was picked for his base price of Rs 30 lakh conceded 30 runs from his quota of four overs. Also, he was fined 25 per cent of his match fees in addition to one demerit for breaching IPL Code of Conduct with a notebook send-off to Aryan.
PBKS' Arshdeep moved 19 places to take the ninth spot as he struck thrice against LSG. Arshdeep dismissed LSG opener Mitchell Marsh in the first over. Later, he got the wickets of Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad as well. The left-arm pacer conceded 43 runs form four overs and helped his team restrict LSG's total to 171/7.

Changes expected after RCB vs GT clash
At least one change is expected in the top five as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) go up against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 2 at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. RCB's strike bowler Josh Hazlewood is currently placed sixth with five wickets from two games. One more wicket and he will enter the top five. If he takes more, he can surpass Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Khaleel Ahmed and LSG's Thakur as well.
Also, GT's left-arm spinner Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore can move up as well. Currently, he is 12th on the list with four wickets. A couple more wickets will help him move into top five. Meanwhile, RCB pacer Yash Dayal and spinner Krunal Pandya who have three wickets can move up the standings too.
