Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni sparked rumours about his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the toss against Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Dhoni, who was reappointed as CSK captain, humorously said that he doesn't know if he will be there for the toss next time.
However, he laughed out loud after that, but fans started speculating will the veteran wicketkeeper batter will announce his retirement after the PBKS clash. The speculations are coming because earlier MS Dhoni reportedly said that he will play his last IPL match in Chennai. However, CSK are yet to play a match in Chennai on May 12 against the Rajasthan Royals.
"I don't know I'm coming for the next game (laughs). One of the things is the pride factor. Majority of the games you play at home. Home advantage is very important which we haven't been able to capitalise on. Same team. We've been a side where we don't make a lot of changes. But this season we've made a lot of changes. Reason is simple. If most of your players are doing well, then you chop and change 1-2 players. But this season it hasn't worked for us. It's also the first season after a fresh auction. So you have something in mind but you have to see where a batter is suited better" said Dhoni during the toss.
Danny Morrison - look at the reception. Does this mean you're coming back next year as well?
