Australia captain Pat Cummins and star opener Travis Head are likely to rejoin Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final against South Africa. Cummins' manager that the pace-bowling all-rounder has a responsibility as captain of the SRH side.
"Pat has a responsibility as captain of the franchise and is looking at returning," Cummins' manager Neil Maxwell told News Corp on May 13.
The IPL 2025 resumes on May 17 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). SRH's first match after resumption is on May 19 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

SRH are already ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as they have suffered seven defeats from 11 games and one match was abandoned due to rain. The runner-ups of the previous season are currently placed eighth on the points table.
Their last league stage match is on May 25 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Delhi. SRH's Australian players will have enough time to prepare for the WTC final which commences on June 11 at Lord's Cricket Ground.
Cricket Australia's statement
Earlier in the day, Cricket Autralia in a statement said that they have left the decision to players whether they want to return for the remainder of the IPL 2025 or not.
"Cricket Australia will support players in their individual decisions whether to return to India or not," CA said in a statement.
"Team management will work through preparation implications for the World Test Championship final for those players who choose to play in the remaining IPL matches.
"We are maintaining communication with the Australian Government and BCCI around security arrangements and safety."
Details awaited for SRH's Sri Lankan and South African players too
Other overseas players of SRH are Heinrich Klaasen, Eshan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis and Wiaan Mulder. South Africa all-rounder Mulder is in their squad for the WTC final. There is no official update on whether the two Sri Lankan and South African players will return or not.
