A lucky escape for Sundar. This is pushed through, on middle and leg from around the wicket. Not all that short but Sundar goes deep in the crease in an attempt to shovel it behind square leg. It keeps low to go under the blade and catches him on the front pad. It dribbles on the turf and the ball gets deflected off Sundar's front leg onto the stumps but the bails don't fall. There is half a shout for LBW but it is turned down by the umpire. Harry Brook sends it upstairs. No bat involved and the Ball Tracking has the ball pitching outside the line of the leg stump. Floated up there, on off. Patel presses forward and firms the drive but can't get it past Josh Tongue at mid off.

A sharp and quick bumper, over off. Axar arches back to play te upper cut but is beaten for pace.

Shreyas Iyer responds, but he does not anticipate the throw coming at his end. He is caught ball-watching and also takes the long route around to avoid being hit by the ball. Harry Brook is quick to pick up the ball and scores a direct hit at the batter's end. Iyer is a bit late to slide his bat inside, and the replay confirms that he is short of his crease. Well, the English players were already celebrating even before it went upstairs.

FOUR! FIFTY FOR GILL! A streaky boundary, but he won't mind one bit. Shubman's love affair with Edgbaston continues. Attacking the stumps, a bit fuller. Iyer is squared up slightly but manages to tap it back to Archer.

Full and at the sticks. Iyer firms the drive down the strip. Archer makes a sharp and threatens to throw at the batting end. Shubman Gill scrambled to get back in his crease just in case the ball deflected onto the stumps off Archer's hands.

Drags the length back, this is angled in at the hips. Iyer gets on his toes and glances it away with no leg slip in place. Josh Tongue moves to his right but fumbles a bit while picking the ball up and the batters sneak in a second run.

At the hips. Iyer hops to turn it away but misses and wears it on the body.

In and around the off stump, on a nagging length. Iyer presents a straight bat for the block. It goes off an outside edge down to deep third. They cross.

Untidy. Hurls it full, outside off. Iyer does not move his feet at all and goes hard at the drive. The bat turns in his hands and he mishits it wide of mid off. Harry Brook moves to his right and gets on his knees but ends up parrying it away to his right. That allows a single to be taken.
