Marco Jansen sprints and slides to his left to cut it off. Jansen holds his left shoulder after releasing the throw. South Africa will hope that it is nothing serious.

A confident shout for LBW but turned down! Corbin Bosch is pretty convinced. The ball appeared to have pitched well outside leg as Bosch bowled it from over the wicket. Aiden Markram still wants to take a chance. Not all that short, on middle and leg, Tilak crouches and swivels for the pull. The ball skids through to go under the blade and rap the batter on the front pad. Ball Tracking shows that the ball has pitched well outside the line.

WIDE! Down the leg side, on a back of a length. Shubman Gill gets inside the line to flick, but misses. Good grab from Quinton de Kock behind the stumps, as he dives to his left. Wided.

EDGED, FOUR! Lucky, very lucky! Nortje slams the deck really hard, on the fourth stump line. It lands and then nips away a touch. Shubman Gill loosely hangs his bat away from his body without any footwork. He gets a thick outside edge that flies between the keeper and the first slip fielder. Reeza Hendricks is standing a bit wide at first slip. He sticks out his left hand on the dive, but it is beyond his reach and the ball races to the fence behind.

BEATEN! Shapes away from a hard length, on top of off. Gill pokes at it tentatively, but plays inside the line. The ball zips past the outside edge.

Edged again, but didn't carry! Seams away from outside off, on a fullish length. Shubman Gill plays with soft hands on the front foot and gets an outside edge. The ball goes on the bounce towards Reeza at first slip. He gets a bit of a hand to his left and the ball is parried away for a single. 

A good-length delivery on middle, jagging back in. Tilak Varma plays from the crease and tucks it to deep square leg for a single. 

Around off, on a good length. Shubman Gill leans forward and taps it in front of extra cover. 

Hits the deck hard, on off, Abhishek punches it from the crease to extra cover.

OUT! STRAIGHT UP AND TAKEN! A fabulous catch from Aiden Markram and the skipper cannot do anything wrong this evening. On a back of a length, around the off pole. Abhishek Sharma goes for a free-flowing lofted shot over cover, but the ball seems to have held on the surface and arrives late before Abhishek's swing. He mistimes it off the toe end and the ball hangs up for a long time, clearing mid off. Aiden Markram runs over his right shoulder, keeping his eyes locked on the ball and takes a fine sliding catch. Abhishek Sharma departs after a rollicking 35 off just 18 deliveries. India are 60/1, needing another 58 runs to win. 

FOUR! Gets off the mark right away! Outside off at 143 kph, on a fractionally fuller length. Tilak Varma covers the stumps and uses the pace of the ball before guiding it through deep backward point for a boundary.

TOP EDGE, FOUR! Fortuitous! Skiddy delivery on a good length, outside off. Tilak Varma swivels on his toes to pull it away, across the line. But the ball takes the top edge and flies over the slip cordon for a boundary on the bounce at deep third. India are 68/1 at the end of the Powerplay.

SIX! All the way! Baartman pushes it across the left-hander, on a nagging length. Abhishek Sharma gets the width to work with, and he takes on the deep point fielder. Flays it over the man in the deep for a six. 50 UP FOR INDIA!

FOUR! Not where Abhishek intended, but he will take it! Closer to the off-stump, leaving the left-hander, on a good length. Abhishek throws his hands at the ball and gets an outside edge that sails over backward point for a boundary.

Baartman switches to around the wicket and this is fuller, around off, Abhishek slices it to deep point for a single.

More like it from Baartman! With an upright seam, angled in on the off stump. Shubman stays rooted in the crease for the block. Gets beaten on the outside edge as the ball straightens off the deck.

Pitches it up, on middle, Shubman defends it solidly.

Wide! Jansen finds good inward shape but the ball slips down leg. Gill looks to help it away but fails to get any bat on it.

Given LBW but successfully overturned by Shubman Gill! Swinging back into the right-hander, on a good length, on middle. Gill plays all around it as he looks to keep it out off the back foot. The finger goes up immediately on the appeal for LBW. There were two sounds and Shubman Gill has reviewed it. The ball actually brushes the front pad first before going to hit him on the back pad. Looks like that resulted in the double sound. Oh, no, there is a scratch on UltraEdge when the ball is next to the bat. The on-field decision is overturned.

FOUR! This will help Gill feel a little better! Full and on off, Shubman transfers the weight onto the front foot and caresses it between cover and mid off for a boundary.

On middle and leg, Gill turns it wide of square leg and crosses over.

Short and curving away, wide on off. Abhishek backs away and steps out. Ends up giving himself too much room and cannot reach it.

FOUR! More off the edge but Abhishek Sharma will take it! Angled into the left-hander, on a length. Sharma presents a straight bat to cover the line, but the ball catches the inside edge and goes fine enough of the deep fine leg fielder.

SIX! Into the stands! Pitched up, moving away in the air, on off and middle. Sharma exposes all three stumps and charges down the track. Carves it over cover for a biggie.

SIX! How about that for a start? A loosener from Ngidi, down leg, on a back of a length. Sharma hops inside the line and helps the ball on its way over long leg for a six.

Bashes the hard length, over off. Abhishek rides the bounce and stabs it down the deck.

FOUR LEG BYES! Ngidi is too straight again, at the hips, on a short of a length. Abhishek looks to tickle it fine, but misses. The ball clips the thigh pad and races down to the deep fine leg fence for a boundary.

Not in control, but Abhishek gets away with it! At 132.5 kph, angling away, on a back of a length. Abhishek goes through with the shot despite being nowhere near the pitch of the ball. He swings to go back over the bowler's head, and the bottom hand comes off the handle. Gets enough bat on it to clear the mid on fielder and collects a couple of runs.

FOUR! Flayed away! Ngidi continues to be a bit too short, on off, Abhishek shimmies down the track and slaps it over cover for a boundary. This has so far been a far from ideal first over from South Africa's perspective. 16 runs knocked off already.
