NZ vs IND 1st ODI Live Commentary - Auckland (04 November 2026)

FOUR! Helped away. Down the leg stump on a length, Gill uses the pace and tickles it to deep fine leg for a boundary.

Full on the stumps, watchfully blocked off the front foot.

No run, the batter lets the ball go outside off stump.

No run, the batter comes forward and plays the off drive but it is a dot ball.

1 run, played towards mid wicket.

A little hint of outswing, full on middle, Rohit watchfully defends it to mid on.

Beaten! Swings away on a fuller length, in the channel, Rohit looks to block it tentatively and gets beaten on the outside edge as the ball leaves him.

Back of a length, on off, Rohit hangs back and taps it to covers.

Nips away off the seam, full and outside off, Sharma is happy to let it go.

Pitched full again, shaping from leg to middle, Rohit thrusts his bat in front and pushes it to mid on.

Wide! A bit too straight, down the leg side, short in length. Rohit lets it be.

OUT! CAUGHT! A soft, soft dismissal and Rohit falls cheaply. Jamieson is over the moon as he breaks the opening stand. On a fuller length, outside off and shaping away, Rohit plays a half-hearted shot, trying to punch it down the ground but the ball holds on the surface and he chips it in the air. The ball travels low to the right of mid off, where Santner watches it all the way and dives forward to take a stunning catch just inches above the turf. Sometimes, an extra delivery is all it takes to make the breakthrough, exactly what happened here.. India are 1/1.
