SL vs ENG Match 6 Live Commentary - Lahore (29 October 2026)

Baker begins with a lovely inswinger. Good length around off, curves back in sharply to the right-hander. Avishka Fernando is hurried but manages to jab it out on the off side.

Another inswinger, but this time it is a tad short and that allows Avishka Fernando to press back and defend.

Fuller and wider of the off stump, swinging back in. Fernando hangs back and pokes at it, edging it down through the gully region for a single.

A tad shorter over middle, Kamindu Mendis is early into the pull and misses out on the connection, getting hit on the thigh pad.

Back of a length and on off, angling back in. Mendis presses back to defend.

No run, played towards third man.

Beaten first up! Atkinson starts around the wicket and lands it back of a length, getting the ball to shape away from the left-hander with some extra bounce. Kamindu Mendis has a poke at it but gets beaten.

Pitched fuller now, in the channel and gets the ball to wobble a bit. This time Mendis leans on and makes a leave.

FOUR! A bit edgy, but Mendis and Sri Lanka are off the mark. Good length around off, Kamindu gets pegged back and squared up a bit, but pushes at it with an angled bat and gets it down to deep third for a boundary.

Full-pitched delivery on off, Mendis solidly blocks it off the front foot.

Good length, around the fifth-stump line, no shape on it. Kamindu Mendis shoulders arms.

Five dots and a boundary off the first over of the chase. Gus pulls the length back a few inches and slants it back in towards off stump. Mendis gets right behind the line to block.
