This one jags back in sharply from a length outside off, Shanto is on the back foot, attempting to defend but it beats the toe end of his bat.

A loud appeal for LBW! Not given. Nyamhuri continues to bring the ball back into the left-hander from a good length around off. Shanto hangs back to defend but fails to keep it out cleanly. He is struck high on the pad, and Zimbabwe go up in unison. The umpire is unmoved, and rightly so. There are two distinct noises as the ball passes the bat, and the replays confirm a faint inside edge before it thuds into the pad.

FOUR! 100 UP FOR BANGLADESH! Full and on off, and Shanto does not miss out. He gets forward, swings through the line, and drills it straight back past the bowler. Mid on has no chance as the ball races away to the fence. 

Wide!

Around off, on a good length, Shanto stands back and plays it down with an angled bat.

Angles in a length ball around off, shaping away, Shanto offers no shot.

Pitches it up and around middle and leg, Shanto leans forward and works it quietly to the left of mid-wicket. Takes a single.

Was that a chance? Not quite. It's full and on middle, angling down the leg side. Mominul plays a firm flick across the line, and the ball rockets towards short leg, striking him flush on the left shoulder. There is a brief moment of excitement, but it cannot be called a dropped catch. The deflection rolls away towards deep fine, but the batters decide against the single.

In the channel close to off, Mominul stays back and allows it through.

Keeps it on off, the batter has just blocked that from the crease.

FOUR! Easy pickings! Nyamhuri errs yet again, serving up a full delivery well wide outside off. It is not the first freebie he has offered today, and Mominul is in no mood to let it pass. He opens his arms and crisply drives it square of the wicket through the off side. Once it beats point, there is only one result. That boundary also brings up the 50-run partnership, with Mominul dominating the stand. He has contributed 35 of those runs and is looking in control.

Goes short and on middle, it's pulled behind square leg for a run.

FOUR BYES! That's a gift for Bangladesh. Poor line from the bowler, drifting well down the leg side. Mominul has a hopeful flick at it, but the ball is far too wide to make any contact. The keeper has no chance either as it scoots past him and races away to the fine leg fence. Bonus runs, and Zimbabwe will be disappointed.

FOUR! FIFTY FOR MOMINUL HAQUE! A fine knock gets the milestone it deserves. Nyamhuri drops it short and offers plenty of width outside off. Mominul pounces in a flash, rocking back and whacking it through point. Once it beats the infield, the outfield does the rest. It is Mominul's 28th Test fifty and his fifth against Zimbabwe, and it has been a composed knock, blending solid defence with some eye-catching strokeplay.

Outside off, left alone.

In the zone outside off, an easy leave for the Bangla skipper.

Terrific delivery! That is as good as it gets. Full and on off, it shapes in through the air before kissing the seam and darting away off the surface. Shanto plays for the initial line, brings the bat down in defense, but the late movement beats the outside edge. Beaten all ends up. Unplayable.

Outside off, Shanto offers no shot.

Fullish and on off, Najmul Hossain Shanto drives it on the up but finds the fielder at extra cover.

Serves it on a length, close to off but not close enough to bother the batter. Easy leave.

An inswinger this time. It lands on a good length outside off and Shanto is happy to shoulder arms. The ball bends back in a touch after pitching, but never enough to trouble the stumps. A comfortable leave in the end.

Beaten straightaway. A length delivery close to off, lands and straightens, Mominul tries to defend from the back foot but is beaten past the outside edge.

Drop and run. Around off on a good length, Mominul goes back and taps it down to covers. Looks at his partner, calls for a quick run and completes it easily.

Back of a length, close to off, Shanto pushes his weight on the back foot and defends it to the off side.

Again the length is on the shorter side, around off, Shanto goes on his toes and punches it with nice timing through covers. The ball slows down before the fence and they get three runs.

Newman Nyamhuri pitches it up this time, outside off, Mominul Haque drives it in front of square on the off side and comes back for the second run. Positive start to the session for Bangladesh. 

A huge, almost desperate appeal for LBW! The Zimbabwe fielders go up in unison, but the umpire stands his ground. Nyamhuri errs in line, drifting a length ball well down the leg side. Mominul shoulders arms and allows it to strike him on the pads without offering a shot. Zimbabwe appeal more in hope than expectation, but there is not much in it. The ball is comfortably sliding down the leg side, and the umpire is unmoved.

Hurls in a length delivery outside off, Najmul Hossain Shanto stands back and makes a leave.

Fuller and closer to off, shaping away after landing, Shanto reads it well and shoulders arms.

A bit short and on top of off, Shanto stays back and plays it down to point.

Nicely struck, but straight to the fielder. It's full and on off, inviting the drive. Shanto gets well forward, presents the full face of the bat, and drills it firmly down the ground. Unfortunately for him, it is hit straight at mid off, who fields it cleanly.

Bumper around off, Shanto ducks underneath it with ease.

Blessing Muzarabani angles it in, on a shortish length around off, Najmul Hossain Shanto defends it confidently from the back foot. That will be Lunch on Day 1.

Down leg, on a short of a length. Haque swivels for the pull but eventually offers no shot.

At the hips, Haque dabs it down on the leg side.

Shaping back in a bit, Haque trusts the bounce and makes the leave. It sails over the off stump.

On off, a bit full. Haque stabs it down on the off side.

Angled away, on a length, Haque is happy to let it go.

FOUR! Uppish but in the gap. Evans pitches it up and gets the ball to move back in the air. Haque steps out and flicks it uppishly through the vacant mid-wicket region for a boundary.

From around the wicket, on a back of a length, on middle and leg. Shanto hops and drops his bat down on the ball.

Beaten! In and around the off stump, on a nagging length. Shanto is forced to play at it due to the angle. The ball straightens enough to beat him on the defense.

And again! Landing just outside the line of the off stump, on the shorter side. Shanto rises with the bounce and presents a straight bat for the block. He is squared up as the ball moves away off the seam and whistles past the bat.

Not as close to the off stump as the previous two balls, on a hard length. Shanto confidently lets it through to the keeper.

Slightly fuller, outside off. Shanto dabs it to point.

Opened him up like a can! Slanting back in from around the wicket, in that line just outside the off pole. Shanto is better off leaving it on length, considering the height of Blessing. Shanto attempts the block but is squared up completely due to the seam movement.

Drifts down leg, Haque does not commit himself to the tickle and lets it pass.

Delivers it on a good length, on middle and leg. Haque nudges it to the man at a catching square leg.

Across the off stump now, on a nagging length. Haque knows where his off stump is and leaves it alone.

Another ball pushed across the left-hander. Haque is not interested in playing at it.

Brave leave! Cross-seam ball, this comes back a bit into the left-hander, in line with the off stump. Half a step towards the off side by Mominul before leaving the ball on length. It bounces over the off stump.

Pushes the length up now, outside off. Mominul Haque shoulders arms.

Nicely done. On a length, on off. Shanto presses onto the front foot and plays a punchy drive to the left of the mid off fielder for a couple of runs.

Angled in at the front pad, Shanto defends solidly by getting forward.

Was there an edge? Tafadzwa Tsiga was the only one to go up but he found no support from anyone else. To be fair to Tsiga, there did seem to be a noise as the ball went past the bat. Banged in on a hard length, outside off. Shanto swivels and goes hard on the pull but it sneaks under the blade.

On a back of a length, not close enough to make the batter play. An easy leave for Shanto.

Pitches it up, on middle. Shanto lunges to keep it out.

Wide! Dug in short, over the off stump. Shanto gets his hands high and initially tries to take the short ball on with the pull but then bails out of the shot at the last moment. Given as a wide for height.

This is in the corridor, on a short of a length. Shanto gets on his toes and has a feel for it before withdrawing his bat.

FOUR! Another sweet drive from Mominul Haque. Fuller in length and outside off, Mominul strides forward and crunches it through point for a boundary.

Short and on off, pulled away to deep square leg for a couple.

FOUR! Glorious shot again from Mominul! Full and on middle, and he gets right behind the line with a straight bat. Playing it beautifully late, he meets the ball under his eyes and punches it firmly past mid on.

On and around off, Mominul Haque defends it.

Huge shout for LBW! Not given. Brad Evans charges in from around the wicket, using the width of the crease to good effect. He lands it on a good length outside off, and the ball curls back in sharply. Mominul shuffles across, shapes to leave, and wears it on the pads. Zimbabwe go up in a confident appeal, but the umpire is unmoved. With no shot offered, impact is never the concern, but the height is. The replays confirm the ball would have sailed over the stumps. A good decision from the umpire.

  FOUR! Eased away! Evans delivers it on a length and bowls it on the pads, Mominul Haque accepts the gift and neatly nudges it down to deep fine. The fielder in the deep tries his best, but the ball finds the fence.

Hurls it in, on a length around off, shaping away a bit with extra bounce, Shanto does well to defend it to the off side.

Identical to the last delivery but the line is a bit too straight, Shanto tries to work it off his pads and it goes off the inner edge to deep fine. They get a single.

Drifting down the leg side again, Mominul fails to flick and it goes off his pads to deep fine. They cross and it's given as a run. In fact, it has been changed to leg bye.

Around off, on a length, Shanto defends it to mid off.

PUT DOWN! Richard Ngarava does everything right, only to be let down by his slip cordon. He lands it on a good length around off, angling it across just enough to force the shot. The ball then nibbles away, finding the outside edge. The chance flies between second and third slip. The third slip fielder, Ben Curran, dives full length to his right, gets both hands to it, but cannot cling on. Much to Ngarava's frustration, the opportunity goes begging. In hindsight, he may have been better off leaving it for the second slip, who appeared to be in a better position.

The batter has just blocked that from the crease.

Bowls it on a length and outside off, Mominul Haque defends it with soft hands to cover-point and comes out of the crease in search of a run. His partner sends him back.

Shortish and on off, Mominul Haque goes on the back foot and defends it down.

This one swings away nicely. Short in length and outside off, Mominul Haque leaves and the ball curls away after going past the batter. That's a money ball if he gets the line right.

Angles in a length ball, targeting the off pole, Mominul Haque trusts the bounce and shoulders arms. This one travels almost over the off stump.

Off the outside edge! Brad Evans is asking plenty of questions here. He lands it on a good length just outside off and gets it to straighten ever so slightly off the seam. Mominul pushes from inside the line with tentative hands, and the ball catches the outside edge. Fortunately for him, it drops well short of point. Another probing delivery from Evans.

Richard Ngarava begins his second spell by slipping a full ball down the leg side. Mominul tries to flick but misses. It goes off his pads to deep fine and they cross for a leg bye.

Back of a length, around off, Shanto goes back to defend and does so by crouching a wee bit.

Lands it on a length around off, shaping away, Shanto stands back and plays late at it. He accounts for the movement and taps it in the gap at covers for one.

Uppish, but safe! That was almost an instant reward for the field change. Square leg was placed there just before this delivery, and he is immediately in the game. Richard bowls a length ball on the pads, and Mominul flicks a bit too firmly across the line. He fails to keep it down, but the ball drops safely and reaches square leg on the bounce.

Fuller and on middle, nudged towards mid on.

On middle, Mominul drops it with gentle hands towards mid-wicket and steals a quick run.

Serves it on a length around off, Shanto gets forward to defend near his front leg and keeps it out off the outer half. The ball rolls away to point.

Back of a length, on off, Shanto goes on the back foot and defends it down on the surface.

Around middle and leg, on a shortish length, again Shanto goes on the back foot and this time he keeps it out on the leg side.

A tempter outside off, full and there to be driven, Najmul Hossain Shanto restrains himself from going after it and lets it go to the keeper. Driving is a risky component on this surface with the nip around.

FOUR! FIFTY UP FOR BANGLADESH! Brad Evans bangs it in short around off, and Shanto instinctively swivels onto the back foot to pull. For a moment, it looks as though he is trying to bail out of the shot midway through, but he does brilliantly to keep it down. The ball races away through deep square leg for a boundary.

On a length around off, defended.

Oh, what happened there? Newman goes into the surface, outside off. Haque takes his eyes off the ball and half-ducks but keeps his bat hanging like a periscope. He is lucky that the ball went past the bat harmlessly.

Angled into the left-hander from over the wicket, on a back of a length. Haque does well not to go feeling for the ball and lets it go.

FOUR! Uppish but safe. Angled in at the pads, fuller in length. Haque plays the pick-up shot off the pads. The man at short leg stands no chance as the ball is past him before he can react. It races through square leg for a boundary.

A flash and a miss. Shorter and outside off. Haque goes hard on the cut to flay it away but fails to connect.

Moving away off the seam, on a short of a length. Haque tucks his bat close to his body and makes the leave.

On a back of a length, on middle. Mominul Haque stands tall and taps it down the strip.

An absolute snorter by Brad Evans. Najmul Hossain Shanto is lucky to be still out there. Hits the back of a length, over off. The ball leaps up to catch Shanto in all sorts of trouble. Najmul hops to fend it down but cannot ride the bounce. It catches the shoulder of the blade but drops well in front of the slip cordon.

Back to bowling it full, on off. Najmul Hossain Shanto covers the line and is solid in defence.

Rapped on the pads. That looked high, and the appeal is turned down. Shaping back in, on a good length, on middle. Shanto lunges for the block with a straight bat but is beaten on the inside edge and gets hit on the back thigh.

Leaving the left-hander, a bit fuller. Shanto offers no shot.

Across the off stump again, a confident drive to a full ball by Shanto but straight to mid off.

Pulls the length back a bit, around off. Najmul hangs back and lets the ball come to him before stabbing it down on the off side.

FOUR! Off the edge. Banged in on a hard length, on off. Haque defends close to his body and with soft hands. The ball moves away a bit off the seam to catch the outside edge but it goes down and past the diving gully fielder to his right.

Pushes the length up now, on off. Haque pushes it wide of cover and crosses over.

Delivers it on a nagging length, outside off. An easy leave for Shanto. It rises on its way to the keeper and carries nicely to Tafadzwa Tsiga at shoulder height.

'Hit, hit' was the call. Very full by Newman, on off. Shanto leans on and squeezes it out wide of cover. Brad Evans was quick to charge towards the ball but could not pick it up in one go and that allowed the batters to complete the single comfortably.

Dug in short, angled in on middle. Haque ducks under it.

Sliding down leg, on a back of a length. Mominul Haque holds his bat high and sways away from the line. Tafadzwa Tsiga flings himself to his right and prevents the ball from going past him by laying a hand on it.

Hurls it full from over the wicket and finds a hint of inward shape, on middle and leg. Shadman eases it back to the bowler.

Another full ball on the off stump. Shadman plays a punchy drive down the ground. Evans does well to get low to his left on the follow-through and gets a hand on it. He takes the sting out of the shot before it goes past mid on. Richard Ngarava goes after it and hauls it in. Two runs taken.

Pushed across the left-hander, on a length. A half-hearted push by Shadman and his bat comes down at an angle. Chops it down off an inside edge and it dribbles to short leg.

Floated up there by Brad, around off. Shadman drives a bit in front of his body as he plays it wide of mid off. Blessing Muzarabani tries to make a tumbling stop to his right but lets it through, and Islam collects a couple of runs.

Stays full, on off. Shadman presses onto the front foot this time and taps it to the right of mid off. A bit of yes and no between the two batters for a single but they eventually decide against it.

OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Brad Evans strikes in his first over. The change in length does the trick for him. After keeping it on the fuller side for most of the over, Brad pulls the length back and keeps the line just outside the off stump. Shadman presses back to deal with it, but is taken aback as the ball kicks up a bit. It leaves him with the angle to take the outside edge. It goes quickly to second slip, where Craig Ervine takes a sharp reverse cup catch around his neck. Islam was better off letting the ball go on length, but he has paid the price for hanging his bat out.

Shaping away a bit, on a length. Islam covers the off stump and lets it go.

Bye! Ill-directed ball by Nyamhuri. This is down leg, on a back of a length. Shadman gets on his toes to play the glance but misses. Tafadzwa Tsiga moves to his right to make the stop but the ball bounces in front and he cannot make a clean stop. It rolls behind before it is cut off by the fine leg fielder. They cross.

Angled in before nipping away, on a good length. It zips through as Mominul keeps his bat close to his body and lets it pass.

A bit wayward again. Fuller and wider on off. Mominul resists the temptation of cashing in on the width and offers no shot.

Hits the hard length now, closer to the off stump. Haque tucks his bat in and lets it be.

Bowled by going wide on the crease, on a short of a length, in the channel. Mominul stands tall and gets his bat high to cover the line but the ball beats the bat by a long way.

Nearly drags it on! Blessing tempts the batter with a full delivery outside off, practically inviting the drive. Shadman cannot resist, but the bat comes down a touch away from the body. He gets a thick inside edge onto the pads, and for a moment it threatens to ricochet back onto the stumps.

Sharp bouncer, around middle, Islam ducks.

FOUR! Not in control, but Shadman Islam will happily take it. Blessing bangs it in short and offers width outside off. Shadman goes hard, looking to smash it over point, but only manages a thick outside edge. Fortunately for him, it flies well wide of the slip cordon and races away to the third man fence.

FOUR! That is much more convincing. Back of a length and wide outside off, Shadman has all the time in the world. He camps on the back foot, waits for it, and packs a punch through the covers. Right out of the middle, and it screams across for a cracking boundary. It seems that Blessing Muzarabani is tiring now.

Short in length and outside off, Shadman Islam tries to repeat the last shot but it comes more from the toe end of the bat. Rolls in the gap at covers and they cross for a run.

Back of a length, in and around off, Mominul Haque covers his sticks and shoulders arms.

FOUR! A gorgeous stroke from Mominul! Nyamhuri overpitches and offers plenty of width outside off. Mominul leans into the drive, transfers his weight beautifully onto the front foot, and caresses it through point. Pure timing and the ball races away to the fence.

In the channel around off, shaping away a bit, Mominul Haque goes back and makes a leave.

Newman Nyamhuri bends his back and digs in a bouncer, around middle and leg, Mominul Haque does well to evade this one.

Lands it full and on off, Mominul gets forward and pushes it with gentle hands to covers.

FOUR! That is a shot straight out of the T20 playbook! Nyamhuri drops it short and offers width outside off. Mominul leans back, frees his arms and ramps it over the slip cordon. It flies away to the fence in a flash. To play that stroke on this Harare surface, with the ball still climbing awkwardly, says plenty about Mominul's confidence.

Shortish and outside off, Mominul keeps his bat close to his body and allows it through to the keeper.

Hurls across a length delivery outside off, Shadman shows no interest in laying bat at it.

 Almost a catch! Blessing Muzarabani is extracting serious life from the surface. He lands it on a good length around off, and it jags back sharply with extra bounce. Shadman is hurried onto the back foot, hops as he fends at it, and the ball balloons off the outer half of the bat. For a moment, it looks like Innocent Kaia has a chance at silly point. He dives forward, stretching out his right hand, but the ball just dips in front of him. 

Digs it in short, around off, Shadman Islam hangs on the back foot and pulls it over mid-wicket. Not much timing and it slows down in the deep. They get three runs.

Fuller this time, around off and angling in, Mominul knocks it towards mid on and picks up a run.

Plays well this time, Shadman. Back of a length, on off and curving back into the batter, Shadman rocks back to get on top of the bounce and punches it to covers.

Newman Nyamhuri steams in and angles across a length ball outside off, Mahmudul Hasan Joy has his stumps covered as he makes a leave.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Zimbabwe strike, and it is the bowling change that does the trick! The finger goes up immediately, although Joy shakes his head in disappointment as he begins the long walk back. There is no DRS available in this series, so he has no option but to accept the decision. A superb delivery from Newman Nyamhuri. He bangs it in on a back of a length around middle, getting it to shape back with steep bounce. Joy is forced onto his toes, trying to fend it away at the last instant, but the late movement and extra lift do him in. The ball kisses the bat or perhaps his gloves and loops through to Tafadzwa Tsiga, who makes no mistake behind the stumps. Zimbabwe have their first breakthrough, and Ngarava's change of bowling pays off instantly.

Full toss and outside off, Mominul leans forward and pushes it softly to point.

FOUR! Beautifully played! An inviting half-volley outside off, and Mominul Haque is all over it. He leans into the drive, opens the face of the bat at the last moment, and threads it wide of point with exquisite timing. The ball races away to the fence.

A touch short and in the channel outside off, Haque has nothing to do with it.

Goes fuller, trying to invite the drive again, but Mominul Haque presses forward to cover the line and allows it through to the keeper. End of a successful over for Newman Nyamhuri. 

Extra bounce again from Blessing Muzarabani, and he is asking all sorts of questions. It's a touch short around off, climbing sharply after pitching. Joy rocks back to defend, but the ball leaps at him, catches the bottom hand on the handle, and forces him to take that hand off in discomfort.

Back of a length, around leg and jumping onto the batter again, Joy is caught on the back foot and fends it away somehow towards square leg. They cross.

Blessing changes the angle for the left-hander, coming from around the wicket. He angles in a good-length delivery on off, extracting that trademark extra bounce. Shadman is forced onto his toes, rises with the ball, and defends it watchfully into the off side.

Serves it slightly up and outside off, trying to lure the batter into a drive, Shadman Islam though stays put and shoulders arms.

Smell the leather! A sharp bumper from Blessing, directed around off and climbing at the batter. Shadman wisely leans back and sways out of the line of fire, allowing the ball to whistle past.

Brings a length ball on middle, Shadman plays it with a loose bottom hand. It takes some part of the bat perhaps and loops up. Falls safely though in front of short leg.

Just outside the off stump, a bit of away shape, more on the shorter side. Shadman shoulders arms.

This kicks up a bit but the line is a little too straight, on the pads. Shadman manages to adjust to the extra bounce and fends it down wide of the man at short leg to his right.

More like it from Ngarava. This is fuller and it comes back into the left-hander. Shadman brings his bat out in front of the front pad and keeps it out.

Hurls it full, around the off pole. Islam cannot transfer his entire weight onto the front foot. He extends his hands and plays a slightly uppish drive to cover.

Continues to be full, a hint of away movement, on off. Shadman pushes it to the right of the bowler with a straight bat.

Drags the length back now, on top of off. Shadman stays back, covers the line and blocks it out.

Oh, that could have gone anywhere. Effort behind this ball by Muzarabani, on a nagging length, on middle. The ball leaps up to catch Joy by surprise as he tries to ride the bounce. His right thumb gets trapped against the bat handle, and he cops a painful blow. The ball drops down on the deck in front of the bowler.

Bashes the hard length, over the off stump. Mahmudul Hasan Joy gets his hands high and trusts the bounce to make the leave. 

Drifts down leg, on a good length. Joy lets it go.

On the pads again. Joy fails to lay any bat on the tickle. The ball clips his pads and goes behind, where the keeper moves to his left and gathers it on the bounce with a dive.

Bowled on a short of a good length, on off. Joy gets on his toes and defends whilst taking the bottom hand off the bat.

Fuller but down leg, Joy misses out on the glance.

Hurls it full, shaping away from the left-hander. Shadman makes the leave.

And again. Ngarava stays full and gets the ball to move away in the air. Shadman leaves it all alone.

Strangled down leg? Too straight, on a back of a length, at the hips. Islam gets on his toes for the tickle but misses. There is a noise as the ball goes through to the keeper but it appears to have brushed the thigh pad.

On the fuller side, outside off, Shadman offers no shot.

Slanting into the left-hander, on a length. Shadman falls across as he plays around his pad. Ekes out an inside edge onto the pads and it drops safely beside the strip on the leg side.

Hits the top of off, does Ngarava. Shadman stays back to defend but is squared up by the seam movement but manages to fend it down on the off side.

Begins with a full ball, on middle and leg. Joy stabs it down on the leg side with a straight bat.

Hits the deck hard, outside off. Mahmudul Hasan Joy shoulders arms. It carries through to the keeper at head height.

Makes the batter play now. Angled in towards the front pad, full in length. Mahmudul Hasan Joy is solid in defence.

In the channel of off, on a back of a length. Joy lets it pass through to the keeper.

Half a shout for LBW, but that is going down leg. Blessing sprays it on the pads. Joy's head falls over as he attempts the flick and wears it on the pads. 

Nice and full, attacking the stumps. Joy taps it down the strip. The tall Blessing cannot get down quickly to his right but it is cut off by the mid on fielder.

Off the mark straight away. Ngarava steams in from over the wicket and serves it on a back of a length, at the hips. Joy hops and glances it down to deep fine leg for a single to get underway.

FOUR! Edged away. Richard pushes the length up and gets the ball to move away in the air, in line with the off stump. Shadman presents a straight bat for the block and does so with soft hands. Gets an outside edge and it goes along the ground past the diving backward point fielder to his right.

Sliding onto the pads, on a length. Shadman tucks it away, but the man at short leg makes a sharp stop to his left.

On middle and leg, a bit full. Islam brings his bat out in front and pushes it to mid on.

Lands it full, outside off. Shadman is happy to let it go.
