Former no.1 T20I batter becomes England's fifth to complete 10,000 T20 runs
Yorkshire captain Dawid Malan scored 88 against Leicestershire and became England's fifth batter to cross the 10,000 runs mark in T20s.
Former no.1 T20I batter, Dawid Malan, achieved a massive feat in T20 cricket. The opener became the fifth England batter to complete 10,000 runs in T20 format (including T20Is, domestic T20s, franchise T20 leagues). Here is a list of England batters to achieve the feat -
1. Former England opener Alex Hales has scored 13,698 runs from 496 innings at an average of 30.10. Hales has seven centuries and 86 half-centuries to his name. He scores at a strike rate of 145.64. He is the second-highest run-scorer in the format.
2. England's wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has scored 12,794 runs from 450 matches at an average nearing 37. His strike rate is above 145. The former England captain has eight centuries and 90 fifties in the format.
3. England opener James Vince has scored 12,143 runs from 434 matches at an average over 32. He strikes at over 135 as well. So far, Vince has scored seven centuries and 77 fifties in T20s.
4. England opener Jason Roy has scored 10,176 runs from 393 games at an average of 27.50. He scores at a strike rate of 140.16. He has six centuries and 67 fifties to his name.
5. Dawid Malan is the latest entrant on the list. He has 10,086 runs from 365 games at an average of over 33. His strike rate nears 130. Malan has scored five centuries and 68 fifties to his name.
On June 8, Dawid Malan achieved the feat with 48-ball 88 for Yorkshire against Leicestershire in the ongoing T20 Blast 2025 at Headingley, Leeds. The Yorkshire captain hit eight fours and five sixes in his knock. Yorkshire posted 213/7 on the board and won the match by 106 runs.
