Out of the truck loads of left-arm orthodox bowlers that Bangladesh has produced, Abdur Razzak has come through as one of the finest spinners in the side. Brandished as a bowler with a suspect action, Razzak has fought through the hurdles in his career and has proven to be a strong force within the Bangladesh set up.

The man from Khulna caught the selectors' eye when he took Khulna to its first ever National Cricket League Title in 2001-02. He made his list A debut against Zimbabwe in 2002 and took a staggering 7 for 17 in the third game. Razzak made his ODI debut later in 2004 in the Asia Cup and grabbed impressive figures of 3 for 17 against Hong Kong but in the very next match, he was reported for a suspect bowling action against Pakistan. He wasn't included in the side for almost a year and played just one ODI in 2005. 'Raj' made his Test debut in 2006 against Australia but failed to impress and went through the series without a wicket. Despite his lacklustre performance in Tests, he remained a regular feature in the ODI squad and went onto set up quite a few wins for the side.

Razzak was suspended from international cricket in 2008 again for suspect bowling action but was cleared the following year and he used the opportunity to silence his critics. He has now become one of Bangladesh's key bowlers when it comes to breaking partnerships and is a force to reckon with in international cricket.
