Hailing from the town of Mirpur, right-handed batsman Afaq Raheem’s domestic career was disrupted due to a knee injury that kept him out for two full seasons till 2009. Debuting for Rawalpindi in 2004, he became one of the most stable performers in the domestic circuit, piling 500 plus runs each season. Raheem was the leading run-scorer in the 2011-12 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with 1088 runs at an average of 54.40. After playing 75 first-class games, he was finally called up to Pakistan’s Test squad for their away series against Sri Lanka in 2012.
