Charith Jayampathi was one of the best bowlers during Sri Lanka's tour of Australia in 2009 with nine wickets. A left-handed batsman who also bowls part-time medium fast, was one of the prospects to watch out for in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He made his first-class debut for Seeduwa Raddoluwa Cricket Club. Charith was part of Uva Next, who won the inaugural edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League in 2012 and was also drafted in the squad for the Champions League T20 in the same year.
