A diminutive, sprightly wicket keeper Devon Thomas made his first international appearance in an ODI against Bangladesh in 2009 when several seasoned campaigners boycotted the tour following a contractual dispute.
Though he played the game as a wicket keeper, surprisingly it was his bowling that made the news as he went on to bag 2 wickets in just 7 balls. On the same tour, he also made his T20 debut but unfortunately had to make way when the big guns returned. However a good stint in the Sagicor High Performance Centre earned him West Indies coach Gibson’s notice and with Ramdin’s poor form showing no signs of fading, he was selected as one of the two keepers along with Carlton Baugh for the 2010 Test series against Sri Lanka.
