Iftikhar Ahmed did the unthinkable in the Pakistan Super League's (PSL) exhibition match as he whacked six sixes of Wahab Riaz's over on Sunday (February 5) to recreate what Yuvraj Singh did in the 2007 T20 World Cup. Iftikhar, who was playing for Quetta Gladiators, clobbered 36 runs in the 20th over of the innings to leave Peshawar Zalmi's Wahab in all sorts of bother. He smoked an unbeaten 94 off 50 balls to help Quetta Gladiators post a challenging 184 runs on the board.
Iftikhar's blitz against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi leave spectators awestruck as a video of his terrific power-hitting went viral on social media.

Riaz, however, ended up with a spell of 3/47 runs in his four overs in the match. For Quetta Gladiators, middle-order batter Khushdil Shah scored 36 runs in 24 balls and opener Abdul Wahid Bangalzai hit 28 in 19 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed hit the first six in the square leg region. The next one was a bit straighter, while the third one was straight above the bowler's head. Wahab switched sides and came around the wicket for the fourth ball, but Iftikhar sent it flying over the cover boundary. The fifth was smacked in the third-man region, while the last one sailed over the third-man boundary as well.
Iftikhar was in action for Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League before joining Quetta Gladiators for this exhibition match. He played a total of 10 matches for the team in which he amassed 347 runs riding on a ton and three fifties.
The 32-year-old joined the elite club of Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard and Jaskaran Malhotra as they are the only players to hit six sixes in an over.
Meanwhile, the match at the Nawab Akbar Bugti Stadium was halted for some time following an explosion in the Police Lines area, which left five people injured.
