Cameron Green has been ruled out of England tour.

Back injury has also put Green's participation for Border Gavaskar Trophy in jeopardy.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been forced to withdraw from the ongoing England tour due to a back injury. The extent of his injury remains uncertain, and it will be assessed upon his return to Perth. This injury could potentially impact his participation in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, which begins on November 22 in Perth. Cricket Australia announced that Green experienced soreness after the third ODI in Chester-le-Street. Despite scoring 45 runs and taking 2 for 45 with the ball, initial scans revealed a back injury. This prompted his early return home to address the injury and prepare for the crucial series against India.

Green's Injury concerns and Australia's tour struggles

Green was rested from the second ODI against England in Leeds as a precautionary measure to manage his workload. Despite this, he had participated in all three T20 Internationals against Scotland. Australia's tour of the UK has been plagued by injuries. Green is the fifth player they have lost, following Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Riley Meredith, and Ben Dwarshuis. This series of injuries has significantly impacted Australia's performance during the tour.

An Australia men's team spokesperson revealed that the full extent of Cam Green's injury and his estimated return timeline would only be determined after he arrives back in Perth for further assessment. Green played a crucial role in Australia's third ODI on Tuesday, taking 2 for 45 with the ball and scoring 42 runs with the bat. However, the reigning world champions suffered their first one-day international loss in 15 matches. To manage his workload, Green was rested from the second ODI at Headingley. This decision came after he had bowled in the previous six matches of their UK tour, including leading the team's wicket-taking during their 3-0 T20 sweep of Scotland.
