With an impressive performance for Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars, Colin Munro, a former New Zealand batsman and current Islamabad United batsman, broke Rilee Rossouw's record for the most fifty-plus scores in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Lahore's Abdullah Shafique scored a rapid-fire 66 off 38 deliveries, but Munro's valiant actions overshadowed his performance. Munro dethroned Rossouw from the top spot and set a new record with his 13th fifty-plus score in his 48th outing in Pakistan's main T20 event. Overall. Munro has 48 PSL appearances and 1,476 runs.

Prior to his accomplishments in Rawalpindi, Munro and Rossouw shared the record, but Munro's undefeated score of 59(42) surpassed the South African's score of 12. Luke Ronchi, Munro's former Kiwi teammate, dropped to third place with ten scores of fifty or more in thirty-one games.

Jason Roy, England's powerful opener, and Ronchi share the record with 10 fifty-plus scores in 38 games. With a total of 35, Pakistan's top batsman and captain of the Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam, tops the list of players with the most fifty-plus scores in PSL history

Islamabad United's attempt to defend the title was aided by Munro's game-changing performance in the PSL Season 10 opening. Islamabad got out to a strong start and defeated Lahore by a commanding eight wickets. Jason Holder was the hero with the ball, aside from Munro's scorching, undefeated 59.

In order to limit Lahore to a pitiful 139, he returned with figures of 4/26. With the exception of Shafique's outstanding performance and Sikandar Raza's helpful 23-run knock, the rest of the batting lineup vanished into thin air.

After struggling as a batsman for Pakistan in the international circuit, Shafique found his rhythm with Islamabad United. His side limped to 139 thanks to his easy performance at number three. Islamabad won the lung-opener match comfortably by 8 wickets thanks to Salman Ali Agha's 41* and Munro's blistering innings.
