A member of the Pakistan deaf cricket team Zain Ul Abadin posted a video lauding Babar for his heart-touching gesture.
"Humble and down to earth my brother my skipper @babarazam. Says best of luck to Deaf Team," he wrote.
Babar recently stepped down as the skipper of the Pakistan cricket team in all formats. The 29-year-old made this decision following Pakistan's inability to qualify for the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023.
"Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It's a difficult decision but I feel it is the right time for this call. I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats," Babar wrote in a statement.
"I am here to support the new captain and the team with my experience and dedication. I want to express my sincere thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for entrusting me with this significant responsibility," he added.
Babar took on the role of captain following Pakistan's below-par performance in the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. He first led the national men's team in the T20I series against Australia in 2019.
Earlier in 2023, he led Pakistan to achieve the No.1 ranking in ODIs. He also played a key role in Pakistan's runner-up finishes in both the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup in 2022.
The Lahore-born batter recently conceded his top spot in the ODI batting rankings to India's Shubman Gill. His upcoming appearance is scheduled in the Test series against Australia, where he will be under the leadership of the newly appointed captain, Shan Masood.
