Delhi star all-rounder Shivam Sharma lavished praise on India great Virat Kohli who is all set to feature for Delhi in Ranji Trophy clash against Railways which will take place from January 30 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Kohli confirmed his availability for the Ranji Trophy after BCCI's 10-point guidelines where they made it mandatory for cricketers to feature in domestic cricket when they are available. 

Kohli's last outing was in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 where he just scored 190 runs in his five Test outings. As Kohli confirmed his Ranji Participation the DDCA has already taken measures to accommodate the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, who will be filtering into the stadium in numbers to witness Kohli in action. The India player was seen in Delhi training on Tuesday, where he had a batting session and also took part in team training.

"He is getting along very well with everyone. He has kept everyone comfortable. With his presence in the team, the entire squad is very confident," Shivam told MyKhel .

 

 

"There are many youngsters in our team who is meeting Virat bhai for the first time. And the way he is mingling is outstanding," he added. 


Despite Kohli's poor outing in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Shivam Sharma is hopeful that the batting great will bring a positive attitude to the team.

"I can't say anything about his performance. But yes, obviously, he is a world-class player. He looks like he is in good touch and everything. So, I think he will make good runs in this match," the Delhi player added.

After representing Delhi in the Ranji Trophy match against Railways, Kohli will join the Rohit Sharma-led squad for the three-match ODI series against England which is scheduled to start from February 6. This will be India's last assignment before the Champions Trophy 2025 which is scheduled to start from February 19.
