He is set to play his Farewell Test against West Indies.

Legendary fast bowler James Anderson took six wickets in his 10 overs in the match between Lancashire and Nottinghamshire at the Trafalgar Road Ground in Southport, on July 2 (Tuesday). He was the only bowler from Lancashire to get breakthroughs and helped his side restrict Nottinghamshire to 74/6  before lunch on Day 3. This is Anderson's last match before his Farewell Test at the famous Lord's Cricket Ground in London, which will start on July 10. He then took the 7th wicket post lunch in his 13th over. Lancs batting first scored 353/9 and in reply rattled the Notts batting line-up.

"Hi everyone. Just a note to say that the first Test of the summer at Lord’s will be my last Test. It’s been an incredible 20 years representing my country, playing the game I’ve loved since I was a kid. I’m going to miss walking out for England so much. But I know the time is right to step aside and let others realise their dreams just like I got to, because there is no greater feeling," ECB quoted James Anderson.

"I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of Daniella, Lola, Ruby and my parents. A huge thank you to them. Also, thank you to the players and coaches who have made this the best job in the world. I’m excited for the new challenges that lie ahead, as well as filling my days with even more golf. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, it’s always meant a lot, even if my face often doesn’t show it. See you at the Test. Go well," he concluded.

James Anderson's astonishing career

Anderson has been one of the biggest fast-bowling sensations in the history. He holds the record for most Test wickets by a pacer and is the third bowler in history to take 700 wickets in red-ball cricket. He also has the second most individual appearances in Test cricket. He has played 187 Test matches and is just behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who has 200 matches in front of his name. He has 700 Tests, 269 ODIs, and 18 T20I wickets.
