Nepal batter Dipendra Singh Airee created history by becoming the third batter in the history of T20I cricket to hit six sixes in a single over. He has joined the elite list with legendary Indian batter Yuvraj Singh and dynamic Windies batter Kieron Pollard.
Dipendra Singh Airee hits six sixes in an over
During the seventh match of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup at the AI Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, on April 13 (Saturday). Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first. Airee in the final over smashed six sixes against Kamran Khan.
This helped Nepal to post a huge total of 210 runs against Qatar. This provided Nepal with a major boost in its score. Airee finished with 64 runs not out off just 21 balls. Performances like this are good news for Nepal as they will be featuring in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024. They are currently competing in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup. They won their first game against Malaysia and are now facing Qatar in their second match.
Dipendra Singh Airee joins elite list with Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard
Before Dipendra Singh Airee, Yuvraj Singh (2007) and Kieron Pollard (2021) did the same in T20 cricket. However, this is not the first time Dipendra Singh Airee has hit sixes on six consecutive balls. Last year during the Asian Games 2023, the Nepal batter smashed a 9-ball fifty against Mongolia. During the knock, he smashed six consecutive sixes but it happened across two overs.
