T20 World Cup 2024 winner team India faced a massive setback as they lost the 1st T20I against Zimbabwe in the five-match T20I series on July 6, Saturday. The Men in Blue collapsed against the bowling lineup of Zimbabwe just after a week of World Cup triumph. After opting to field, Indian bowlers did wonders and bundled out Zimbabwe for 115 runs. But the batting collapsed as skipper Shubman Gill was the only batter who managed to score more than 30 runs and this resulted in a 13-run humiliating loss to team India. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and Tendai Chatara was the pick of the bowlers by picking three wickets each. However, Zimbabwe bowler Luke Jongwe did something strange as he took out his shoe after taking Dhruv Jurel's wicket.
Luke's unique celebration after Jurel's wicket
During India's batting, Zimbabwe bowlers were seen dominating and due to that the visitors lost four wickets on just 22 runs. After that T20I debutant Dhruv Jurel came to bat with skipper Shubman Gill. He had a forgetful T20I debut as he departed after scoring seven runs. Luke Jongwe took his wicket and as soon as he got the wicket, he took off his shoe and did a unique celebration just like South Africa bowler Tabrez Shamsi.
