Shahid on the captaincy debate
Actor Shahid Kapoor was asked multiple questions regarding the game of cricket and the questionnaire included the ongoing captaincy saga in Indian cricket.
While talking to Times of India, regarding the captaincy debate, the 40-year-old actor diplomatically said that it was for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to decide that. He went on to mention that this kind of split captaincy had both, advantages, as well as several disadvantages.
“I think that’s for the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to decide. But hmmm, there are pros and cons to both. But, I guess it should be what works best for the team in question,” said Shahid Kapoor.
Kohli replaced by Rohit
Recently, India Test team skipper Virat Kohli was replaced by Rohit Sharma as the new ODI captain. The absence of a clarity between the BCCI and Kohli was severely debated by fans and critics. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly went on to say that, he had requested the 33-year-old not to step down from the T20I captaincy but surprisingly, the Delhi-born batter had a totally opposite viewpoint.
