Rajasthan Royals have made yet another massive announcement ahead of the next edition of the Indian Premier League. RR recently appointed Indian legend Rahul Dravid as their head coach and have now hired Vikram Rathour as their new batting coach for the IPL 2025 season. This would be the first reunion of the duo after the historic triumph with Indian cricket team in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, where both of them were playing the same role.
Rathour has a wealth of experience, having represented India in six Test matches and seven One-Day Internationals before taking on a highly regarded coaching role. Rathour, who is well-known for his technical skill, was India's batting coach from 2019 to 2023, during which time he significantly influenced the development of young Indian batters. During his time, he assisted players like KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant as they went through important stages in their growth. Rathour was a national selector and a domestic cricket coach for Punjab and Himachal Pradesh before taking on his position with India.

Rahul Dravid welcomes Rathour
"Having worked closely with Vikram for many years, I can confidently say that his technical expertise, calm demeanor, and deep understanding of Indian conditions make him a perfect fit for the Royals. Together, we've built a strong rapport, guiding India to key successes, and I’m thrilled to reunite with him. His ability to nurture young talent and elevate players' potential will be invaluable as we aim to further strengthen our squad and continue building a world-class team here at Rajasthan Royals," said Rahul Dravid welcoming Rathour to the franchise.
"It’s a privilege to be part of the Royals family. The opportunity to work again with Rahul, and now with a talented group of young cricketers, is hugely exciting. I look forward to contributing to the team’s vision and working toward our goal of developing top-class players for the Royals and for India which can help in winning championships," said Vikram Rathour.
