The Women's Premier League (WPL) mini-auction by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on Saturday, December 9. All five franchises will aim to optimise their squads, with 165 players vying for 30 spots, including nine overseas players. The player pool comprises 104 Indians and 61 from overseas, including 15 from Associate nations.

The auction will feature 56 capped players and 109 uncapped players. The upcoming second edition of the WPL is expected to be held in February-March, preceding the IPL. In a departure from the previous edition, which took place in a single city, the 2024 edition is set to be hosted in both Mumbai and Bangalore.

Gujarat Giants, who finished at the bottom in the previous season, will focus on addressing their shortcomings with the largest purse in the WPL auction on Saturday. Meanwhile, the other four teams will aim to refine their squads for the 2024 edition of the league.
