The UP Warriors made significant expenditures during the Women's Premier League (WPL) Auction 2024 for the upcoming 2024 season. They splurged on Vrinda Dinesh, a notable performer in Indian domestic cricket, securing her for a substantial amount of Rs 1.3 crore, despite her base price being Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, UP added Danny Wyatt to their roster with a payment of Rs 30 lakhs.

The competition for Vrinda Dinesh was evident, with UP Warriors displaying a clear strategy to acquire her. They swiftly entered the bidding when Vrinda's name was announced, successfully outbidding Gujarat and RCB to bring her into the team for Rs 1.3 crore.

The UP Warriorz, led by Alyssa Healy, narrowly missed reaching the final in the first season of WPL earlier in 2023, losing out to the Mumbai Indians. In the previous season, the Australian all-rounder Tahlia McGrath and English spinner Sophie Ecclestone stood out as key performers for the Warriorz. McGrath showcased her batting prowess by leading the team's run charts with an impressive tally of 302 runs in 9 games.
