Brandon Fernandes delivered a precise corner kick, finding Bheke unmarked, as the Maldives' defense focused heavily on Chhetri. Bheke seized the opportunity, heading the ball into the net and giving India a 1-0 lead.

With Brandon off the field, Mahesh Naorem delivered the corner, finding Liston Colaco at the far post. Colaco, left unmarked, confidently headed the ball into the net, doubling India's lead. He then celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic "SIUUUU" gesture. As the match drew to a close, Sunil Chhetri added a third goal, heading in a cross from Colaco. Chhetri, visibly emotional, celebrated as India secured a comfortable 3-0 victory.
