The Indian hockey jersey color change controversy has stirred a huge controversy.
What started as a disagreement over switching the jersey color from blue to orange has now unfolded into a complex issue combining sports politics and administration. The president of Hockey India, Dilip Tirkey, wrote to the executive board expressing his surprise and concern that the decision was made and implemented without their knowledge or consultation. Although he personally has no issue with the color orange, he questioned the lack of communication and decision-making transparency. Turki also admitted he publicly supported the change to avoid a distraction from the team, despite privately not being informed nor consulted.
