Ferrari's Incredible run continues as  Carlos Sainz has secured a remarkable pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix, outperforming Max Verstappen and Lando Norris during a thrilling qualifying session that included a red flag in Q2 and a couple of surprising eliminations in Q1. Verstappen initially seemed to have locked in a provisional pole with his first run in Q3, but his time was invalidated due to track limits, which allowed Sainz to take the top spot. On his second run, the Ferrari driver delivered an impressive lap, clocking in at 1m 15.946s.

Verstappen settled for P2, finishing 0.225s behind Sainz, while Norris rounded out the top three after leading in both Q1 and Q2 for McLaren. Charles Leclerc, also from Ferrari, took fourth, followed by Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in fifth and sixth, respectively.

More positions for Mexico City Grand Prix

Kevin Magnussen was the top performer from Haas in P7, with Alpine's Pierre Gasly in P8 and Alex Albon from Williams in P9. Nico Hulkenberg, Magnussen’s teammate, completed the top ten. In Q2, the session was cut short when Yuki Tsunoda crashed at Turn 12, resulting in red flags. This left his Red Bull teammate Liam Lawson unable to set a better time, placing them in P11 and P12.

Fernando Alonso faced disappointment during his 400th Grand Prix weekend, finishing in 13th for Aston Martin, just ahead of teammate Lance Stroll. Valtteri Bottas from Alfa Romeo was the last to be eliminated in Q2, ending up in 15th.

Q1 featured two significant surprises, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez finding themselves knocked out in 17th and 18th, respectively—particularly disappointing for Perez in front of his enthusiastic home crowd.

Ferrari's Historic 1-2

. Charles Leclerc won the United States Grand Prix while his teammate Carlos Sainz secured the second spot. Ferrari finished historic 1-2 at Austin's Circuit of the Americas while Mclaren's biggest championship contender Lando Norris was penalised denting his title run.  Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen finished third. Norris was penalised as he had passed Verstappen in the final laps for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. He suffered a five-second penalty which was enough to play a spoilsport for the Singapore GP winner for a podium finish at US GP. The penalty was a talking point as Norris went from third to fourth place, allowing Verstappen to secure a podium finish and extend his championship lead to 57 points with just five races to go.
