However, all eyes will be on rising star Lakshya Sen, who will face Malaysian Zii Jia Lee in the men's singles match and will be vying for a bronze medal from his first Olympics. Two Indian athletes will compete in athletics, with Pahal Kiran competing in the first round of the women's 400-meter race. Avinash Sable, who won gold at the Asian Games, will try to get into the 3000-meter steeplechase final later in the day.
