John Cena, who has soared to the upper echelons to emerge as an inspiration for professionals in his field, was quite approachable to the rookies even before attaining the stature he is at today. Supporting the statement, a riveting experience of how Cena welcomed a newcomer after his debut fight in the WWE, has been brought forward and narrated by the individual who was Cena's partner in crime that day.
John Cena's Way to Welcome a Superstar
In 2011, a towering wrestler, standing over 6-feet tall, by the name of Welshman Mason Ryan made his debut on the Monday Night Raw. He was a part of the faction led by CM Punk, who was feuding with Cena at that time, and hence the debutant got the opportunity to announce himself to the WWE Universe by targeting none other than the biggest babyface of the company, John Cena.
While they were at odds in the ring, behind the scenes it was all friendly. Revealing the episode with John Cena, Welshman Mason Ryan, a.k.a, Goliath revealed how once John Cena invited him to his bus and the two had a spree of drinks.
So, I hop on the bus and he says, "Hey, take a seat". And then he started bringing out some drinks. I’m thinking, Okay, we’re going to have a beer or two.
Then after an hour, he starts bringing out the whiskey. And then he starts bringing out the moonshine.
Following that Cena ensured Mason that there is nothing to worry about and following which the two got sloshed.
"Cena said, “Oh, don’t worry!” I had a connection, and the connection was only an hour away or so. We got my bags and instead of catching the first flight, we drove to wherever that second flight would be.
And I’ll be honest, he got me pretty drunk! At one point, we were drinking a beer, a shot of whiskey, and then and washing it down with a moonshine. So it was quite the blur!
That was one of the craziest things about that [debut], getting hammered on John Cena’s bus that night.
He further revealed that as the alcohol started to kick-in, Cena thought he was in trouble, but the Wales star did not showcase the signs of being tipsy. However, he could not hold on to the act as Cena saw him "nearly falling over" later.
