The twelfth ranked Taylor Fritz and home favourite will lock horns with German powerhouse and fourth seed Alexader Zverev in the upcoming quarter finals of the US Open 2024 which will take place on Tuesday, 3rd September. The winner of this match will take on Francis Tiafoe or Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals.

Fritz began his US Open 2024 campaign by with an easy win over Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli (7-5, 6-1, 6-2). In the second round, he then defeated Italian Matteo Berrettini in straight sets (6-3, 7-6 (1), 6-1).
Fritz continued his winning run as he defeated yet another Argentinian in the form of Francisco Comesana (6-3, 6-4, 6-2). He was taking on Casper Ruud in the fourth round where he dropped the first set but then bounced back and defeated Norwegian (6-3, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2).
Alexander Zverev US Open 2024 journey
On the other hand, Zverev started his campaign with a hard fought win over Maximilian Marterer (6-2, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2). He then defeated Alexandre Müller in staright sets (6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-1).
In the third round, the German dropped the first set against Tomas Martin Etcheverry but bounced back to defeat him (5-7, 7-5, 6-1, 6-3). In the fourth round, Zverev again lost the first set but fought back to defeat the local Brandon Nakashima (3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2).
