Team India veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara on December 23 (Friday) breached the 7,000-run mark in Test cricket.
The 'Wall 2.0', as Pujara is fondly known, became only the eighth Indian batter to achieve the milestone in international red-ball cricket.
Pujara achieved the milestone during India's innings in the ongoing second Test match in Dhaka.
Pujara is now in with a chance to break Sourav Ganguly's record. Ganguly scored 7,212 runs in Tests.
Virat Kohli is ahead of Pujara in runs column in Tests. Kohli has amassed 8,118 runs in red-ball cricket.
VVS Laxman scored 8,781 runs while Virender Sehwag scored 8,503 runs in Test cricket.
Rahul Dravid scored 13,265 runs while Sunil Gavaskar scored 10,122 runs in Tests.
Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with 15,921 runs in Test cricket for India.
