The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for two first two Tests of upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy on January 13 (Friday).

The 17-member squad has several surprising additions as Rishabh Pant continues to remain out.

Let's take a look at the five big storylines from India's squad for Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

1. Ishan Kishan has earned his maiden Test call-up. With Pant sidelined, Kishan might be asked to keep wickets and bat aggressively in lower-order.

2. Suryakumar Yadav has been named in India's Test squad only for the second time. He is yet to make his Test debut.

3. Premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah has not been named in India's squad for the first two Tests against Australia.

4. KS Bharat has been included as a wicket-keeper for the first two Tests. It will be a coin flip between Kishan and Bharat.

5. Ravindra Jadeja has been named in the squad but his inclusion is subject to fitness.
