Year 2025 has been a season for retirements. Many modern-day greats have retired from different formats. Here’s a look at Australian players who have retired this year -

1. Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from ODI cricket before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Stoinis played 71 ODIs and scored 1,495 runs at an average of 26.69, including 1 century and 6 fifties. He took 48 wickets at an average of 43.12.

2. Former Australia captain Steve Smith retired from ODIs after the semifinal defeat to India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

From 119 ODIs, Smith has scored 5,800 runs at an average of 43.28, including 12 centuries and 35 fifties.

3. After facing concussion after concussion, 27-year-old Will Pucovski announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Pucovski made just one appearance in international cricket. He scored 72 runs on Test debut against India in 2021, including a half-century.

4. Batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was another Australian player who retired from ODIs after ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

5. Left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc is the latest entrant on the list as he announced his retirement from the T20I format to focus on ODIs and Tests.

Starc played 65 T20Is and claimed 79 wickets at an average of 23.81, including a four-wicket haul. He retired as Australia's current 2nd highest wicket-taker in T20Is.
