Asia Cup and the Naagin Dance

Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in a do-or-die match and made it to the Super 4s by exacting revenge and performing the serpent dance.

After their win with four balls to spare, Chamika Karunaratne performed the famous serpent dance standing inside the dressing room.

What is the serpent dance?

During the Nidahas Trophy in 2018, the Bangladeshi players celebrated with the serpent dance when Sri Lanka was eliminated from the tournament.

First time we saw the dance

The Sri Lankan team did not reach the final of the Nidahas Trophy after losing to Bangladesh but since then, the dance has been on the mind of the team. 

Yearning for revenge

When Sri Lanka eliminated Bangladesh out of the Asia Cup, they left no stones unturned and sent their opponents with the serpent dance.

Naagin dance finally avenged!

Kusal Mendis (60) scored a half-century as Sri Lanka sealed their place in the Super 4s by beating Bangladesh by two wickets in their Group B match.

In the 1st game of the Asia Cup, Afghanistan's strong showing beat Sri Lanka. Then they beat Bangladesh in the second match to make it to the Super 4s.

Bangladesh suffered a major setback after losing to Afghanistan and then hosts Sri Lanka. Their team will leave after being eliminated from the Asia Cup.

If Pakistan defeats Hong Kong on Friday, then on Sunday, September 4, the fans will once again witness a great match between India and Pakistan.
