Defence in any team is key, especially at an event as prestigious as the World Cup.

Hence, a lot of emphasis is put on the goalkeeper, which is the most important player on the pitch.

One of the best goalkeepers in the world is Germany's Manuel Neuer, who also captains his national team.

He made his first World Cup appearance in 2010 and has seven clean sheets in the World Cup, winning the Golden Glove in 2014.

This time, he has a chance to equal, or even better the record for the most clean sheets at the World Cup!

Leading this list with 10 clean sheets are two goalkeeping greats in England's Peter Shilton and France's Fabien Barthez.

Meanwhile, former Brazilian goalkeeper Taffarel had eight clean sheets to his name.

Another Brazilian in two-time World Cup winner Gilmar also had seven clean sheets to his name.
