As Gareth Southgate made multiple substitutions in the 71st minute to get fresh legs on the pitch

Rashford responded immediately and scored a goal in just 49 seconds to extend England's lead

This was the third-fastest goal in the history of FIFA World Cup by a substitute player

The record for fastest goal by a substitute in FIFA World Cup history belongs to Denmark's Ebbe Sand

Ebbe Sand scored in just 16 seconds against Nigeria in 1998 edition of the tournament to extend their lead

Rashford needed just 3 touches to find the back of the net against Iran's substitute goalkeeper

This was Rashford’s 1st goal for England since he missed the penalty in Euro 2020 final against Italy

Earlier, Rashford was recalled by England for FIFA World Cup 2022 after a good run under Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag
