Story Highlights:

David Moore’s status remains uncertain after limited practice participation this week.

Carolina Panthers’ defense faces potential depth challenges due to multiple injury listings.

Carolina Panthers head into their final regular-season matchup with important roster decisions looming, as the latest injury report highlights several contributors with uncertain availability.

With the Panthers preparing to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, January 3, at Raymond James Stadium, health updates across multiple position groups could influence both game planning and personnel usage.

Carolina currently has eight players listed on the injury report, ranging from confirmed absences to late-week question marks who may be evaluated closer to kickoff.

David Moore status draws attention in receiving group

Wide receiver David Moore is among the key players listed as questionable after being limited in practice due to an elbow injury.

Moore has appeared in three games this season and provides valuable depth in Carolina Panthers’ receiving rotation. His availability would offer Carolina additional flexibility in the passing game, particularly in multi-receiver sets.

While Moore’s limited participation suggests caution, his status will likely be determined following pregame evaluations.

Defensive front faces uncertainty

Defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton is also listed as questionable after managing a hamstring issue throughout the week.

Wharton was limited in practice but has been a steady presence on the interior defensive line in 2025, contributing two sacks and 36 total tackles.

At linebacker, Krys Barnes appears to be trending in a positive direction. Despite dealing with a back injury, Barnes was a full participant in practice, positioning himself as a likely option on game day if no setbacks occur.

Carolina will be without Claudin Cherelus, who has been ruled out due to a calf injury. Cherelus did not practice and will miss the contest, thinning linebacker depth for Carolina Panthers.

Secondary and offensive line absences

Panthers’ secondary will be impacted by the absence of cornerback Robert Rochell, who remains in concussion protocol and did not practice.

Rochell has appeared in four games this season, and his unavailability could test Carolina’s depth against a Buccaneers offense that relies on spacing and timing.

On the offensive line, guard Robert Hunt is listed as questionable after limited participation with a biceps injury.

Hunt has only appeared in one game this season, but his status still carries importance given Carolina Panthers’ need for stability up front.

Running back and tight end updates

Running back Rico Dowdle practiced fully despite dealing with a toe issue and is expected to be available. Dowdle has been a significant contributor in the backfield, surpassing the 1,000-yard rushing mark in 2025.

Tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders remains a concern after missing practice with a fibula injury. His absence would reduce options at the position, particularly in short-yardage and red-zone situations.
