Green Bay Packers are dealing with mounting availability concerns ahead of their Week 17 primetime matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, with injuries and illness significantly impacting roster certainty.
While Green Bay has already secured a postseason berth, Saturday night’s game carries major implications in the NFC North race, making the final inactive list particularly critical.
Jordan Love officially ruled out
The most notable development for Green Bay is the confirmed absence of starting quarterback Jordan Love, who has been ruled out after entering concussion protocol.
Love’s unavailability forces the Packers to pivot offensively at a crucial stage of the season, placing added responsibility on the backup quarterback room.
Malik Willis expected to start amid illness concerns
Despite being listed as questionable due to illness, Malik Willis is expected to start in place of Love. Willis did not practice on Wednesday but has remained in line to lead the offense.
His preparation, however, has been complicated by the broader illness issues affecting the roster — particularly along the offensive line and at the skill positions.
Illness spreads across the locker room
Green Bay Packers added two more names to the injury report late in the week, with guard Aaron Banks and wide receiver Savion Williams now listed as questionable due to illness. That brings the total number of players battling illness to six.
In addition to Banks, Williams, and Willis, the list includes wide receiver Christian Watson, center Sean Rhyan, and cornerback/receiver Bo Melton.
Practice participation reflects the uncertainty: Rhyan and Watson did not practice on Thursday, while Melton was absent for the entire week.
The situation creates potential instability up front, as Willis could be operating behind an offensive line missing multiple starters or key rotation players.
Watson’s status is also notable, as he remains one of Green Bay’s primary offensive weapons when available.
Inactive list looms large
With eight total players listed as questionable entering the weekend, Green Bay Packers’ inactive list — released 90 minutes before kickoff — will play a major role in shaping the game plan. Illness has lingered around the team in recent weeks, with similar situations affecting availability in both Week 15 and Week 16.
Despite already clinching a playoff spot, Green Bay must defeat Baltimore to remain in contention for the NFC North title.
How many of these questionable players are cleared could determine whether the Packers can rise to the challenge under the bright lights.
