NFL teams have worked hard throughout the preseason to find their stride in time for Week 1's start. They will all be trying to oust the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won the Super Bowl twice in a row and are defending their title. They look like they will once again be among the best in the NFL. However, there are still far too many unanswered questions before we can even begin to consider the playoff picture. Injuries will be one of the biggest factors this season, and not all 32 NFL teams will be 100% healthy for their season openers.
Here are some of the most pressing injuries from Week 1
RB Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
McCaffrey picked up an injury in his calf during camp toward the beginning of August and didn't play in any of the Niners' preseason games. However, he has been regularly practicing, so he should be ready for Monday night's game against the Jets.
QB Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
Herbert, after being diagnosed with a plantar fascia injury in his foot, in late July was in a walking boot for almost 14 days. Despite his questionable designation, he has been gradually increasing his activity and should be fine to start on Sunday.
TE Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
On August 14, Andrews was in a car accident, but the Ravens claimed he was unharmed. All things considered, he didn't take part in practices for quite a long time prior to getting back to activity last Friday. That will provide him with a full week of practice time before Baltimore's Thursday game against Kansas City.
WR Marquise Brown, Kansas City Chiefs
"Hollywood" suffered a shoulder injury on August 10 and coach Andy Reid predicted that Brown would not be available for Thursday's opening game. The Bosses decided not to put him on injured reserve to begin the season, a sign they expect him back by Week 4. JuJu Smith-Schuster, a seasoned wide receiver, was signed by Kansas City to add depth.
WR Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers
Pearsall, a rookie, was shot in the chest, and the 49ers put him on the reserve/NFI list, which means he will miss at least the first four games of the regular season. Pearsall previously had been managing a shoulder injury that had restricted his cooperation in instructional course.
