Indianapolis Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward expressed his honest thoughts about his second concussion he suffered this season. During Friday's press conference, the veteran cornerback spoke about the symptoms he suffered during this period of time and described the situation as "scary".
Ward also disclosed that at one point in time, he was not sure if he would be able to make a comeback to the gridiron to play again.
"The one I had the second time, I was throwing up, getting dizzy. I was getting dizzy for like a month. That wasn't normal," Ward said. "So that was a real deal traumatic injury for me. Lot of emotions and stuff like that. It was pretty tough, but I'm feeling good now.
"Definitely scary man. ... It was crazy. I was kind of doubting if I was gonna play football again because it was that scary. It was that scary, you know what I mean. Because I wasa thinking about my life outside of football too. So, it was crazy."
In March, the Colts penned Charvarius Ward to a three-year deal worth $54 million. In Week 6, he had a collision with his fellow teammate, Drew Ogletree, during warm-ups for their game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Ward ended up picking a concussion and was placed on the injured reserve. He missed the last four games for the Colts while recovering from his injury and finally participated in Wednesday's practice session. The cornerback will be making his return this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sauce Gardner makes honest admission on Charvarius Ward
The Colts acquired two-time All-Pro Sauce Gardner from the Jets through a trade before the November 4 deadline. On Sunday, he will partner with Charvarius Ward for the very first time since joining the team.
On Friday, Gardner shared honest thoughts about Ward.
"I just like how he attacks every day, you know, when it comes to practice, meeting rooms," Gardner said. "Obviously, he got a good resume too. ... This is good for us to be able to pair with each other and just go out there and do our thing. ... It's a great opportunity for us and I'm looking forward to it."
The Colts (8-2) vs the Chiefs (5-5) Week 12 showdown kicks off at 1 pm ET and will be broadcast on CBS.
