C.J. Stroud helped the Houston Texans to reach their third straight postseason appearance in the 2025 season. However, there have been speculations about the quarterback's future with the team.

C.J. Stroud to leave the Houston Texans?

NFL expert Todd McShay said on Monday that he believes Stroud to be a trade target but Texans insider John McClain clapped at the rumors.

"The Texans will NOT be trading CJ Stroud!" McCain tweeted.

McClain posted on X again just over 20 minutes later.

"These stories about CJ Stroud possibly being traded just blow me away. He ain’t getting traded. Davis Mills ain’t getting promoted to replace him. Let’s keep track of these tweets and post them right before camp begins for accountability purposes," McClain tweeted.

McClain said on "The Locker Room With Laundry Locker" podcast on January 26 that he would not offer Stroud an extension because of bad playoff outings. He requested Houston to pick up his fifth-year option instead.
