Over the next six years, Shaw’s teams reached double-digit wins in five of those seasons, with his 2015 squad finishing ranked third in the nation. Shaw's career beyond Stanford
Despite recent challenges, including losing seasons in three of his final four years at Stanford, Shaw’s pedigree has kept him on the radar for NFL head coaching roles. Jane Slater of NFL Network revealed that Shaw will interview for the New Orleans Saints' head coaching position.
Currently serving as a senior personnel executive with the Denver Broncos, Shaw’s diverse coaching background includes stints with the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, where he worked with quarterbacks and wide receivers before joining Harbaugh’s staff at San Diego (FCS) and later at Stanford as the offensive coordinator.
The Saints' search for a new leader
The Saints are currently in search of a new head coach after parting ways with Dennis Allen in early November. Allen, whose tenure ended with a dismal 1-7 start to the season, left the team with an 18-25 record. Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi took over as interim head coach, guiding the Saints to a 5-12 finish.
