Jason Kelce is done with NFL halftime shows featuring dogs catching frisbees.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center retired in March 2024 after playing 13 seasons. He now co hosts the "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, who features as tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kelce didn't mince his words on Wednesday about the lack of creativity in halftime programming.
"If I have to see another dog catching a f*cking frisbee, I'm gonna blow my brains out," Kelce said (Timestamp: 36:50).
"Where is the creativity? If there was one of them, it'd be really cool. Or if the dog jumped over like a flaming bridge, I'd be all in. But it's just it's not that exciting to me. I can go to any park and watch some d*ckhead play catch with a frisbee and his dog."
Teams regularly hire professional stunt dog groups like The Canine Stars for halftime entertainment. Vital performers, including Frisbee Rob and Sailor the Touchdown Dog, have become staples at NFL games, sometimes creating world records for long-distance catches.
Jason Kelce rejects comeback idea
Travis Kelce insisted his elder brother return to the NFL during the same podcast episode. However, Jason Kelce wrapped up the conversation by disclosing a medical issue.
"Travis, I can't bend my elbow right now. I got a loose body," Jason said. "I can't even touch my head right now because I got a loose body stuck in my f***ing elbow joint."
Travis said that Jason should have surgery to fix it and return to playing. But the retired center made it very clear that he is trying to avoid going under the knife.
Jason also works as a commentator on ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown." He recently spoke about Travis' possible retirement during "Monday Night Football," suggesting his brother to enjoy the final three games before deciding.
