Story Highlights:

Dart praises Daboll’s impact on his development, calling him a coach who “genuinely cares” on and off the field.

After suffering a concussion, Dart vows to be more cautious while leading the Giants into their Week 13 matchup vs. the Patriots.

On Friday, Jaxson Dar gave his honest opinion on Brian Daboll's sacking ahead of their week 13 clash against the New England Patriots.

The rookie quarterback thanked his former coach for everything that he has done for him in the league.

"Obviously, there's been a lot that's happened since I've been up here," Dart said. "I just want to acknowledge Coach Dabs and all that he did for me. When I look back on everything, it's really special to come to a place where a coach genuinely cares about you and loves you and you have that personal relationship on and off the field. So, I just have all the respect in the world for him. I think he's an incredible offensive mind. He's done an amazing job of developing me up to this point.

"This business is a beast man. ... Unfortunately, we just weren't able to get enough wins for them. But at the same time, I've got a respect for them."

The New York Giants kicked off this year on a negative note with a disappointing 2-8 start. After their Week 10 defeat to the Bears, Brian Daboll was sacked from his position, with Mike Kafka taking over as the interim head coach.

This was also the game where Jaxson Dar picked up his first concussion, resulting in him missing the last two games for his team. Since replacing Russell Wilson as the starter, the rookie quarterback has registered 1,417 yards and 10 TDs passing, along with 317 yards and seven TDs rushing.

Jaxson Dart promises to be more serious with his gameplay on the field

Since taking over as the Giants QB1, Jaxson Dart has shown a lot of aggressiveness with his play style. He has been guided several times not to take too many hits on the gridiron.

After picking up his first concussion in the league, Dart claimed that he will be more serious with his attacking approach.

"When I look back at that game, there's not a hit where I'm like, 'Dang, I shouldn't have taken that hit' to be honest, " Dart said as per SI. "I felt like I was making smart decisions. I didn't really take unnecessary hits.

"That was just a situation where you kind of lose control of your body when you fumble it, and you're not really bracing for the ground. But obviously, moving forward, now I've got to be more available for this team, so that's obviously on the forefront of my mind going forward."

Jaxson Dart and the Giants will lock horns against the Patriots on Monday at 8:15 pm ET.
