Kendrick Lamar set the stage on fire with an electrifying performance during Sunday night's Super Bowl halftime show. Fans and critics alike praised the rapper's dynamic set, making it one of the most talked-about performances in recent Super Bowl history. However, one notable sports personality, Skip Bayless, made it clear that he had no interest in watching the show.

Skip Bayless Stands in Solidarity with Lil Wayne
The 73-year-old sports broadcaster took to his platform to announce that he had intentionally skipped Lamar's performance "out of respect for my brother Lil Wayne." Bayless’ decision was a response to the ongoing debate regarding the NFL’s choice to select Lamar over Lil Wayne, a New Orleans native who had expressed his disappointment over not being invited to perform in his hometown.

Lil Wayne’s Disappointment Over Super Bowl Snub
Lil Wayne had publicly shared his feelings about being overlooked for the coveted halftime slot, stating that "it hurt a whole lot" not to be chosen to perform on such a grand stage. Many fans also questioned the NFL’s decision, considering Wayne's deep ties to the city of New Orleans and his longstanding association with the league.

Bayless Suggests a Conspiracy Behind the NFL’s Decision
During a recent episode of *The Skip Bayless Show*, the sports commentator speculated that Lamar’s selection might have been influenced by rapper Jay-Z, who oversees the NFL’s entertainment division. Bayless suggested that Lil Wayne’s close connection with Drake—who has been involved in a well-publicized rap feud with Lamar—could have played a role in the decision.

NFL Reportedly Issues an Apology to Lil Wayne
Bayless further claimed that the NFL attempted to smooth things over with Lil Wayne following the controversy.

According to Bayless, "The NFL immediately sent Wayne a letter of apology. From nobody in particular, just from the league on NFL letterhead. A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers, his favorite team, but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has."

He also pointed out that Lil Wayne has been a regular presence on *NFL GameDay Morning* on the NFL Network, making his absence from the Super Bowl halftime show even more surprising.

Bayless Remains Firm in His Boycott
Despite the league’s apology, Bayless maintained his stance, making it clear that he would not watch "one second" of the halftime show. "He will watch the game; just not the halftime show. Not one second," he emphasized.
