Jalen Hurts emerged as the Super Bowl MVP when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Vince Lombardi trophy in 2025. While the franchise continues to talk about A.J. Brown's future, an NFL analyst thinks it should cut ties with the quarterback before deciding on the wide receiver.
Andrew Filliponi makes big claim on Jalen Hurts
Andrew Filliponi dropped a big statement about Hurts on Monday.
"I would actually look to move Jalen Hurts before A.J. Brown," Filliponi said, via "First Things First." "I think we've seen Jalen Hurts' best football already. He turns 28 this summer. I think we've already seen him at his apex as a player.
"He is an expensive player. He doesn't wanna throw the ball over the middle. With offensive line injuries, with Saquon Barkley not being an elite player last year or as good as the year before, we saw Hurts take a tremendous step back. I don't think it was only the offensive coordinator."
Hurts penned a five-year contract, $255 million extension in the year of 2023, which consists of $179 million guaranteed and the first no-trade clause in Eagles history.
Jalen Hurts' 2025 stats
He completed 294 of 454 passes for 3,224 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions across 17-regular appearances in 2025. Hurts dropped 421 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 105 carries.
