The Green Bay Packers faced a humiliating 10-7 loss against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Monday, and rapper Lil Wayne was not too happy with the result.
The Packers offense failed to create an impact against the Eagles in their Week 10 clash with the team failing to score in the first three quarters. The five-time Grammy winning rapper criticised Packers coach Matt LaFleur with a two-word reaction after the defeat.
"Shit water," Wayne wrote on X.
It was a second back-to-back defeat for the Packers, who now sit third in the NFC North behind the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. The American singer was disappointed with Jordan Love's performance as he reshared a post from Shannon Sharpe slamming the Packers quarterback.
Love threw for 176 yards, completing 20 of his 36 attempts without a touchdown. In the Packers' three defeats this season, Love has thrown two touchdowns compared to the 12 he has thrown in wins or ties.
After the second back-to-back loss, former Super Bowl winner Chris Canty ripped the Packers quarterback, saying Jordan Love could cost coach Matt LaFleur his job.
"I’m very concerned. Jordan Love is bad, and he’s probably gonna get his coach fired if he can’t get it fixed. That’s where we ate,” Canty said.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur not worried about his job
The two teams failed to score in the first half, making it the first NFL game since Week 14, 2023 to see a scoreless first half. However, the Eagles defense held out for a 10-7 win.
There have been rumors about LaFleur coaching job being under danger, the Packers coach is not giving attention to the speculations and is focused on doing his job.
“I’ll leave that for everybody else to decide,” LaFleur said. “I’ll just focus on the day-to-day. I feel like you’re always coaching for everything in this league, you know? That’s just my mindset. It’s always been that way. You can’t ever exhale. You got to always be pushing. That’s just my mindset and that will be my mindset ’til they tell me not to coach anymore.”
The Packers' offensive slump is a big worry for LaFleur and he will be required to come up with the answers when they face the New York Giants on Sunday.
